Skylight Cottage is an old soul.

We kept as much of the cottage’s original character as we could, particularly the bits that gave it charm, history and a little wonkiness, then worked around them rather than over them.
Instead of relying on finishes to do all the talking, we treated natural daylight as the main material. Skylights pull light deep into the house, washing across spotted gum floors, shimmering copper cabinets,  stone benches and patinaed fittings, changing the way the spaces feel from morning through to afternoon.

The old and new are deliberately allowed to sit side by side: heritage details up front, a lighter and more open rhythm through the middle, and a living pavilion at the rear that spills out towards the north-facing deck.
